The use of gas and plasma is a relatively new concept to be introduced in the UK.
Plexr is the use of plasma in order to contract the skin (micro-contraction). Allowing the practioner to complete a number of non-surgical procedures, such as Blepharoplasty, non-surgical removal of crows feet; wrinkles; removal of tattoos; cholesterol spots and other conditions that affect the skin. Anyone that knows me will be aware that I have done my research. Spoken to other professionals and looked at competitors models and of course reading; reading, articles and lots of data, before I decided to introduce Plexr at the Tracey Bell Clinics.
I always like to try the non-surgical procedures. I have crows feet and a chin scarred by acne. Plexr was the ideal thing to treat such conditions. The actual treatment itself was straight forward; cream was applied to my eyes, 30 minutes before the procedure. A dental block was injected into my acne scarred chin. I could feel it around my eyes, instantaneous discomfort, this stopped on the Plexr being fired. My chin, I felt nothing thank heavens for dental block!
So Day 1 – it was very apt that Halloween was approaching. Dark circles, slight crust, no swelling or pain – all good. I travelled back to the Isle of Man – Plexr had begun – hailed a lunch hour procedure, yes it was quick 15 minutes per eye and painless. The next 2 – 3 days surprised me – there was swelling, scabs, lymph swelling! Yes I looked like a Halloween pumpkin. I soon realised that yes, it may have taken a lunch hour to do it. However it certainly was not a 30 min non-surgical Blepharoplasty – and back to work.
Day 2 – I wake up my eyes are swollen. I experience tightness in my cheeks, no pain, and no heat. I do look rather well, shall we say strange. The scabs are fixed, my face feels tight.
What can I say I can do my chores, operate fine, no painkillers, no medication? All is good of course there are always sun glasses, big sunglasses.
Day 3 – Well this morning I open my eyes in bed! Well I thought I had. My eyes are nearly closed, my head drastically swollen and #justJJ said “you look like a pumpkin head, mum!”.
My face is so round and swollen today, I really have to stay in. I daren’t go out for fear of frightening kids. I search the internet in hope of finding something; before and after pictures; a review or two but I find nothing. Lunch hour procedure – I think – not a chance, if I worked in M&S they would have had me in the stockroom or sent me home. Today I definitely don’t look good!
Photos taken, loaded on-line, now the patients and general public are fully aware of what happens post Plexr procedure. Day 5 – Loss of my Crustaceans – Today things are better – my crustaceans going, they are falling off by the hour! The scabs have started to fall off, the swelling decreasing, and only day 5. I feel almost fit to face the world! I worked in my mask of course.
My skin is new and pink beneath, my face still tender and swollen though. But I am in awe of my new skin, certainly fewer wrinkles, my itchy scabs, no longer resemble crustaceans on a sea bed. Pain wise none, the pink area is tender and I am paranoid about applying sun screen, even though there is no sun! Don’t want the risk of darkening my new skin.
Yes Day 5 – Recovering and Feeling Better. I certainly am glad that I tried the treatment first. My patients certainly wouldn’t have expected this!
I now know what Plexr in between those before and after pictures feels like!!
