Fixing More Than One Missing Tooth

Just as with one missing tooth, we can treat several missing teeth successfully with dental implants. Implant-supported teeth are permanently fixed in the mouth, and more secure than removable appliances such as dentures. With guaranteed no slip and no click, there is no worrying about them moving or falling out when speaking, eating or participating in activities.

Dental implants are placed directly into the bone, therefore preserving the jawbone and preventing bone deterioration. Your dental implants can look, feel and function like natural teeth, and can last a lifetime. With single-stage implant fixture placement, cover screws are exposed and no secondary procedure is required to uncover the integrated implants.

Multi Implants
Advantages Over Bridges

Advantages over bridges

Using a bridge has several drawbacks:

  • The capped teeth that support the bridge are weakened, and often fail over time, creating more dental problems.
  • The bridge cannot prevent bone loss. The bone in the area where the teeth are missing will continue to deteriorate, and this leads to further complications.
  • Some spans of missing teeth are too large to be treated with a bridge.
  • Most bridges last from 5-7 years before needing to be replaced.
  • Dental implants are placed directly into the bone where the teeth are missing, and do not affect the adjacent healthy teeth. Dental implants also prevent or reduce the further loss of bone, and can last a lifetime.

Advantages over dentures

Another traditional approach to treating multiple missing teeth has been to use partial dentures. These are appliances made of plastic and metal that clip to adjacent healthy teeth in order to fill the gaps created by missing teeth.

  • Dentures are a more cosmetic procedure than a functional one. Many people who wear partial dentures are reluctant to smile, laugh or even speak in public because they are afraid their denture may slip, or that the wires may show.
  • Partial dentures can greatly impact your ability to eat what you like, especially in public.
  • Many people do not like the feeling of metal and plastic in their mouths.
  • Just like bridges, dentures do nothing to prevent loss of bone in the jaw.
  • Many people tolerate dentures because they think they have no other viable options.
Advantages Over Dentures

Reduction of bone loss

After a tooth has been removed, the bone that has supported it rapidly begins to be resorbed. We can perform a socket preservation grafting procedure immediately after removing a tooth, to reduce bone loss in the tooth socket. The procedure involves gently pushing the bone away from the tooth root. If damage, trauma or periodontal disease is present, additional bone can be created. Donor bone is inserted during the grafting procedure, completely filling the tooth socket and preventing bone loss. The dental implant can then be placed in the position of the missing tooth after four to six months.

All on 4

An effective and affordable solution for missing teeth, All on 4 enables us to fit full upper and lower arches of replacement teeth in just one day. The procedure uses just four implants placed at strategically planned positions in the mouth, and is an option even for patients who have experienced bone loss. All on 4 also allows patients to replace their denture with natural-looking fixed teeth without the high cost associated with dental implants. The new teeth look, feel and function just as natural teeth would, restoring confidence and giving back the smile you deserve.

Implant retained dentures

More stable than conventional dentures, implant retained dentures are custom-made to fit securely over a number of dental implants. These implants are placed in strategic positions where there is more bone density, and, in some cases, mini implants can be used. Implant retained dentures are held firmly in place in the mouth, and can be removed for cleaning. They don’t slip or move when eating or speaking, and no rubbing or irritation is experienced. They create a natural looking smile, improving confidence and self-esteem.

Implant guided surgery

Implant guided surgery can dramatically improve the final placement and result of the procedure. It uses digital technology and techniques to plan the final outcome before treatment has even begun, ensuring each implant is placed with accuracy and precision. The risk of possible complications or obstacles in challenging cases is drastically reduced and less time is needed in surgery itself. Guided surgery allows for a minimally invasive approach, leading to a more comfortable recovery period and reduced pain.

The beauty you deserve is only a call away.
