Complete dentures, or false teeth, are prosthetic devices that replace all-natural teeth in the upper or lower jaw. They are custom-made to fit your mouth and restore functionality and aesthetics, allowing you to eat, speak, and smile confidently.

The construction of full dentures involves several stages, each aimed at achieving a comfortable and natural-looking fit. Here’s an overview of the process:

  1. Initial Consultation: During your first visit to the dentist, they will examine your oral health, take impressions of your gums, and discuss your expectations and concerns. They will explain the denture construction process and address any questions.
  2. Impressions and Measurements: Accurate impressions of your mouth will be taken to create a mould. These impressions help in creating dentures that fit securely. Additionally, measurements of your jaw and bite will be taken to ensure proper alignment and function.
  3. Wax Try-In: A wax model of your dentures will be created based on the initial impressions. This allows you to evaluate your new teeth’ appearance, shape, and colour. Adjustments can be made at this stage to achieve the desired aesthetics. At This Stage, we will offer you the opportunity to take home and show your family and friends or simply have a closer okay yourself.
  4. Final Denture Fabrication: The final denture will be fabricated once you’re satisfied with the wax try-in. The wax model creates a custom acrylic or porcelain prosthesis that resembles natural teeth. The artificial teeth’ colour, shape, and size are carefully chosen to match your facial features and create a natural-looking smile.
  5. Fitting and Adjustments: When the final dentures are ready, you will visit your dentist for the fitting. They will ensure the dentures fit properly and make necessary adjustments for comfort and functionality. It may take a few visits to achieve the perfect fit, as adjustments might be needed to relieve any discomfort or pressure points.
  6. Post-Delivery Care and Maintenance: We will provide instructions on properly caring for your dentures. This includes cleaning techniques, regular check-ups, and proper storage when not in use. Adapting to wearing dentures may take some time, but with practice, you will become comfortable with speaking, eating, and smiling.

Complete dentures require regular maintenance and periodic adjustments to ensure optimal fit and function. Follow your dentist’s instructions and schedule regular check-ups to maintain oral health.
