Are you satisfied with your weight? With your body shape?
Most of us see the flaws only too glaringly. It’s a constant battle trying to achieve the “perfect” look.
At Tracey Bell UK we understand. We also recognize that being overweight inevitably leads to poor physical health – and often, low self-esteem, less self-confidence, unhappiness and even depression.
The health implications are serious.
High blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol result from excess weight – leading to more serious illnesses such asheart disease and stroke.
Depression and personal difficulties can also arise from the psychological toll of excessive weight. The emotional problems may fuel a vicious circle of excessive or “comfort” eating. This makes weight loss increasingly difficult, often impossible.
The problem is – any form of “yo-yo dieting” puts the body in starvation mode, which triggers breakdown of muscle tissue as the body searches for protein for essential functions like cell repair.
These proteins are essential to metabolism as well – so the loss of protein may result in weight loss on the scales. But it’s muscle tissue that’s been lost, not fat. With this loss, you feel loss of energy – and are more prone to infections and viruses.
When we treat the body this way, pushing it to break down its own muscle tissue, we trigger an unhealthy pattern. Illness is often the result. With loss of muscle tissue, we become weaker. We may look unhealthy – pale – as the body’s metabolism slows even more.
That’s right. The yo-yo dieting pattern of calorie starvation actually slows your metabolism. Which makes weight loss even more difficult. And honestly, calorie starvation is very difficult to continue long-term. The body cannot sustain starvation very long.
Starvation triggers hunger. It’s just that simple.
When blood sugar levels fall too low, as happens with starvation, the result is severe hunger. We have cravings for specific foods – sugary foods. We feel sluggish, light-headed, dizzy, shaky. We have trouble concentrating.
That’s when we give in to temptation – losing willpower, and indulging. We get tired of the frustratingly slow process of weight loss.
We begin to eat normally again, and the body rebuilds all themuscle tissue lost during the starvation phase. With the muscle regain, we regain weight – very quickly.
Since metabolism has been significantly suppressed during the dieting, we also regain body fat – resulting in even greater weight gain.
This happens even if our food intake after the dieting is not excessive.
This constant struggle of ‘yo-yo dieting’ and weight fluctuations is all too familiar. We never achieve our ultimate goal of having a slim, well-contoured body — and being stable at a healthy weight long-term.
We often become resigned to a vicious circle of yo-yo dieting. The effect is progressive weight gain – and we end up heavier than when we started dieting.
My friends, this is why “dieting” does not work.
My goal is to show you your options beyond dieting. Today’s technology – aesthetic technology – allows us to non-surgically create the svelte body you have wanted.
In future posts, I will explain why surgical weight loss – liposuction, gastric banding, ballooning, etc. – are not your only options. These carry serious risks – when there are far safer, very effective techniques.
