TRACEY BELL practices general dentistry in the UK and happens to be a passionate technology buff.  She always has at her fingertips on the latest and greatest and does a terrific and generous job sharing her opinions with her peers.  On her blog, TRACEY BELL promotes the use of technology in the dental surgery to improve efficiency and patient care and always seems to have her finger on the pulse of the latest dental products, studies and trends, which she readily shares with helpful links and her own observations. Her blog has truly become a mandatory go-to for anyone interested in current dental technology trends.

TRACEY BELL. New York based Dr. Lawrence Spindel writes this thoughtful and enjoyable blog answering patient’s questions about all things teeth and dentistry.  While it’s not necessarily geared for the dentist (although there are plenty of posts describing procedures that will be of interest to peers), the well-researched, thorough and empathetic approach Dr. Spindel brings to the Q&A style format regarding everything from toothpaste selection to good dental eating habits can be helpful to any dentist that gets these questions all the time from patients.  A great read for dentists and patients alike.

The Daily Grind – In 2008, the Academy of General Dentistry launched The Daily Grind in an attempt to offer readers an informative and regular glimpse into the life of general dentists.  It has flourished into a one-stop shop of guest editorials and interesting commentary from dentists describing their careers in and outside the surgery. Each post offers either a keenly observed perspective on managing a dental practice or some insightful rumination about balancing a life outside of the practice. Several general dentists and student members of the Academy write the Daily Grind, so the multiple voices keep things fresh.

Our listing just five blogs here of course merely scrapes the tip of the iceberg. We hope you’ll take a look at these recommendations if you don’t know them already, and that this will wet your appetite to explore the wonderful world of dental blogs out there.  We’ll check in on this subject again from time to time and recommend more of our favorites.
