Before Placement
If your jawbone is not deep enough for a single tooth dental implant then a bone graft will be required. Single tooth implants can be carried out on both front and back teeth. Mini implants can also be used.Treatment step 1
The procedure of a single tooth implant is as normal the dentist will make a tiny incision in your gum in order to access your jawbone. He or she will then drill a small hole in this bone before inserting the implant. The implant will look like a small metal rod resembling a screw.Treatment step 2
After insertion, the incision is closed to allow for the healing process to begin, which is usually over a period of 3-6 months. Osseointegration will begin to occur as the implant infuses with the jawbone. For cosmetic reasons, we can fit a temporary tooth or crown while your new single tooth implant establishes itself.Treatment step 3
The second procedure consists of the original wound being reopened before fixing a small attachment to the implant. Now a new artificial tooth can be fastened in place: the aversion of disaster at the return of your restored smile.
All ceramic Central Incisor
Ceramic Central Incisors are a type of strong and natural-looking artificial tooth, able to replace porcelain with metal type restorations. They are biocompatible, working with the body with no risk of rejection or allergic reaction, and non-metallic. Ceramic Central Incisors are highly aesthetic, looking and acting just like your natural teeth with no unsightly metallic lines on show. If they are the right choice for you, we start with an initial consultation before taking x-rays and scans to determine the exact position of the implant. This is then inserted along with a bone graft if necessary.
Anterior implant crown
This is a type of restoration used to replace a loose or missing tooth at the front of the mouth. Often, a tooth in the bottom jaw, known as the Maxillary Lateral Incisor, can be missing due to injury or a congenital defect. A dental implant can be inserted in the gap, or used to replace a loose tooth, and allowed to fuse before a crown is fitted. This allows full functionality to be restored to the mouth and can also provide a confidence boost.
Immediate single tooth replacement
Also known as Lateral Incisor Replacement, this treatment is similar to an Anterior Implant Crown, but is completed in one session rather than as a two-stage process. We insert the implant, attach the abutment and place the restoration in a single procedure. Due to the instant nature of the procedure, it is becoming more popular and is suitable for patients with healthy teeth and enough depth and width in the jawbone to hold the implants. It carries a greater risk of failure, but the same-day benefits of this procedure are compelling.
Single Implant Teething Problems
Single tooth implants are usually a straightforward procedure. However, there is a small chance that a condition called poor soft tissue result will recur. In some cases, if the tissues of the gum have not been cared for correctly, a dark line can form around the restoration. Sometimes, the gum is so thin that the implant itself is visible, causing confidence issues in the patient. This can be rectified by soft tissue grafting, taking thicker gum tissue from the palate of the mouth and grafting it onto the area holding the implant.
