In June 2007, Dr Tracey Bell opened a unique clinic in the centre of Liverpool. A one stop shop for all things beauty, aesthetics and dental treatments under one roof. Born from a passion for dentistry and facials aesthetics, Age Perfecting Treatments on Hanover Street focused on four main areas of business; Dental, Non Surgical, Laser and Spa treatments.

The clinic was one of kind in Liverpool a decade ago – many of its potential clients had never heard of many of the treatment options available. Aesthetic enhancement treatments were seen by many as an expensive luxury – something that only rich or famous people could possibly indulge in. therefore the clinic sought to educate patients on a new era of beauty possibilities, holding regular open days, demonstrations and creating a hugely popular YouTube channel to allow those who had an interest in the growing industry feed their curiosity and learn how it could work for them.

Initially the client base at the Liverpool Clinic was mainly made up of affluent middle age professional men and women who were in many cases intrigued to see a clinic so comprehensive in their offering in Liverpool (or anywhere outside Harley Street at the time). Dr Bell and the team provided a friendly warm welcome to dispel any myths about snooty pretentious surgeries and relax the patient through their journey of reinvention.

The evidence based results provided by the clinic spoke for themselves, and loyal client relationships were formed with all practitioners at the clinic. The popular ‘Wrinkle Free Wednesday’ offer allowed Botox patients to try a pampering peel and microdermabrasion as a gift, and reap the benefits of these treatments as they improved the texture and condition of the facial skin as well as their Anti Wrinkle Treatment, enhancing overall result and client satisfaction.

From a regulatory point of view, the clinic adhered to exemplary standards set firstly by the Healthcare commission for Laser treatments (since disbanded for laser) and more recently the Care Quality Commission for Dental treatments. The team also prided themselves on voluntary regulation such as Save Face and Treatments You Can Trust for injectable fillers.

With the growth of social media the industry changed rapidly. Younger clients were curious and had more money to spend on themselves. An aesthetic awareness was fashionable. People generally began to become less tolerant of ageing and become more active in looking good and feeling healthy. The clinic had evolved.

After 10 years based on Hanover Street, Tracey Bell had lived, loved an beautified its last client and was on the move – its latest step in its own reinvention. A move to the beautiful tranquil Georgian Quarter of Liverpool was a total change to the hustle and bustle of central Liverpool. But one the clinic settled straight into seamlessly. Clients followed and marvelled at the mix of classic original features of the setting blending effortlessly with the modern scientific effectiveness of the clinical equipment.

The future of Aesthetics we are told is down to trends, and the key to surviving in Aesthetics is to move with them. An exciting future lies ahead for Aesthetic Practice, and the next 10 years are sure to be as colourful and beautiful as the last.
